This lemon-lime moringa smoothie is filled with the detoxifying properties of citrus and cantaloupe. It has a bright, refreshing flavor that is perfect for hot days. It will keep you hydrated, help decrease bloat, and is loaded with nutritional benefits from moringa.
Cantaloupe acts as the base for this smoothie, giving it a lovely, thick texture. It has a mild, sweet flavor that is perfectly balanced by lemon and lime. The orange color is a great indicator that cantaloupe is rich in beta-carotene. It’s actually as high in beta carotene as carrots, which are famous for their content of this micronutrient. Beta-carotene is converted to vitamin A by the body and acts as an important antioxidant for immunity and eye health.
Cantaloupe is a good source of folate (also known as vitamin B-9). Folate is a crucial nutrient for pregnant women since it helps prevent neural tube defects. It is needed for energy production, it helps the body make red and white blood cells, and is used for DNA repair.
Fermented moringa is a supplement that may be new to you. It is a rich green-colored powder that has a mild, earthy flavor. It’s the perfect addition to smoothies for a boost of nutrition. It’s high in antioxidants which helps fight free radicals in the body. When free radical damage happens chronically in the body it can lead to issues like inflammation and chronic illnesses. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/2 large cantaloupe or 1 small
1/4 cup coconut flakes
1.5 cups coconut milk
1-2 teaspoons moringa
1 cup ice
Directions:
Prep your ingredients.
Add all to a blender and blend on high until creamy and smooth. Serve moringa smoothie immediately.
