This Mocha-Style Breakfast Shake Is A Great Latte Alternative

This Mocha-Style Breakfast Shake Is A Great Latte Alternative

smoothie-blog

Shakes are a big part of the Lifestylestyle whether you’re on the Cleanse or having a Daily Shake every morning. They are an ideal breakfast, a great snack, and can even be a light lunch or dinner when you’re not very hungry or don’t have time to sit down to eat a solid meal.

This shake recipe gives you another delicious option to add to your repertoire. While coffee is not included on the Cleanse, this recipe uses a natural alternative called Dandy Blend that tastes similar to coffee, along with cacao powder, to create a wonderful mocha flavor that is hard to beat.

If you don’t have Dandy Blend, you can leave it out and this recipe will still taste fantastic. Feel free to explore with other ingredients too, like tahini instead of almond butter, or almond milk instead of coconut milk. That is part of the fun of shakes – they are so versatile!

Ingredients:

16oz coconut milk (unsweetened)

2 tablespoons almond butter

1/8 tsp cinnamon

Pinch nutmeg

1/2 cup frozen or fresh blackberries (1/4 cup for blending and 1/4 cup left whole)

1 tsp Dandy Blend

1 tsp cacao powder

2 scoops Chocolate Daily Shake (or one Chocolate Cleanse Shake Packet)

1 scoop of Move

A few drops of stevia (to taste)

6 ice cubes

Directions:

Place all ingredients except half the blackberries and stevia into a blender.

Blend until smooth. Add a drop or two of stevia, taste and then adjust to desired sweetness with more drops if necessary.

Add the last 1/4 cup of whole blackberries into the shake. I like to leave them whole so I have something to chew on as I drink the shake, but if you prefer you can blend them all into the shake until smooth.
