There’s one word for this satisfying treat: YUM. Loved by kids and grownups alike, this berry smoothie recipe is decadent yet incredibly nutritious. This shake is a great way to energize our mornings, kickstart our lunch-on-the-go, or make the perfect dinner while cleansing on our 21-Day Clean Program. Switch out the blackberries for raspberries, peaches, or blueberries for an equally yummy mix. Blend these ingredients up and have a blast!
Benefits of this Berry Smoothie Recipe
Almond butter is a popular health food for good reason. Among a variety of benefits, almond butter can help regulate blood sugar and lower the risk of heart attacks. The calcium and copper inside the butter are involved in brain cell communication. It is also a great source of vitamin E and the healthy fats in almond butter aid in cardiovascular health. We like to make our own as it is easy and cost-effective!
Adding berries to this shake increases its nutritional value — berries are known for being a powerful source of antioxidants.
Time: under 5 minutes
Serves: 1 (easily doubled to serve 2)
Almond Butter Berry Smoothie Ingredients
12 oz unsweetened coconut milk
1/4 cup almond butter
1/2 cup frozen blackberries
1/4 teaspoon vanilla powder or extract
1 teaspoon roasted maca (optional)
A few drops of stevia
1 packet of vanilla Cleanse Shake (can swap for chocolate as well!)
Directions
Place all ingredients of the berry smoothie recipe into a blender and blend until smooth for 30-45 seconds.
Pour into a tall glass, perhaps stir in a few cacao nibs or coconut flakes and enjoy!
