Watch Wellness Coach Katherine share how she prepares her favorite Cauliflower soup for chilly weather from our Clean Blog recipe: The Best Cauliflower Soup Recipe to Keep You Healthy.
Cauliflower has incredible anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that will keep your immune system strong throughout the winter and spring seasons.
As a cruciferous vegetable, it is especially high in the plant compound called sulforaphane. This compound is a potent antioxidant that protects your heart health and reduces inflammation. Sulforaphane is also known to fight cancer and protect your cells from DNA damage, preventing aging and aging-related diseases.
Cauliflower is also incredible for gut health, as it can help support the integrity of the gut lining. Cruciferous veggies contain sulfur, which supports the production of glutathione, a naturally-produced antioxidant in your cells. It is made up of three amino acids: glutamine, glycine, and cysteine. These are widely known to help repair cells and particularly those in your intestinal wall, helping repair leaky gut.
